"Im Still Standin"

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post this video but great things have been happening! This was from a couple of weeks ago. I was able to stand with my trainer just locking out my left knee and I was able to lock out my right knee and hold my hips without holding on!!! I have never felt as stable and strong! It was so amazing! We both started crying. Since then we have been working on strengthening and standing longer. I know I am healed and that this is just the beginning of my body coming in line with God's word. After having done all I can do I will continue to stand on the promises of God! As I stand in the spirit I will stand in the natural! :) Praise Jesus!

Just a few scriptures :)

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:13

Now I stand on solid ground,
and I will publicly praise the Lord!
Psalms 26:12

One Year!

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since I last posted anything...sorry. I have been busy with school and therapy but now school is out for the summer. Today, June 3rd, marks exactly one year since I moved out to California to start training at Project Walk! It really does not feel like it has been a year and I thank everyone for your prayers and support this past year. I was only able to post this one video. I had several others from when my parents were here for Easter of me standing with the help of my trainer but for some reason they would not upload. However, in this one you can see how much stronger my core is getting. I used to not be able to sit up like this without holding on to anything. My trainer and I had been working on this but I would never be able to hold it and one day I was able to hold it. It was so exciting! With my core getting stronger every day it makes it easier to do other things. This past week we started trying to crawl. Its very hard to do and I do need help to keep my hips from falling to the side and to pull my knee through but I know that this will get stronger also. I have really made great progress this past year and look forward to sharing with everyone the progress I make this summer. Everyday in every way I'm getting better and better in Jesus name!

New Stuff

Hey everyone! Here are some new videos that I have been needing to post. The first one is from about 2 weeks ago and the second is from last friday. Things are going great out here. God is so amazing!!! He is still the healer!

Here I am holding my hips myself and we are working on letting go of the bar so I can stand without holding on! I did this for about 20 min which is amazing!

This video is of a new exercise that we just started. My hip flexors have been initiating and we have been working on getting them stronger. Hip flexors are what pull your leg through when you are walking.

A New Year!

Hello Everyone!
I hope that ya'lls new year is off to a great start. I was off for two weeks because of Christmas and New Years but started working out again on January 5th. It was a great start to the new year because I picked up right where I left off. It was a great day and I felt like I had not missed the workouts that I had. One thing that my trainer and I discovered, however, was that my lower back muscle on my right side was not initiating. I have been unable to hold my right hip as well as I can hold the left and we thought that this was because of my right oblique being week. We had been working out my oblique and it is getting strong but I was still having trouble holding my hip because my back muscle was not holding me. I told this to my connect group and they prayed for it to start working. Well, on last Wednesday I was able to use it! Noq all we need to do is strengthen it and get it stronger. It was so incredible. Prayer is so powerful! I truly believe that great things will happen this year and I am really excited to see what God is going to do! Here are some pictures from the first day back and Wednesday.

Ab Workout

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! The following are three videos from last weeks ab workout on the total gym and on the table. I really liked the boxing ones ;).

The weights on my hands pulled me forward so I had to use my abs and back muscles to stop the motion and keep myself from falling over. It was really difficult because the momentum was hard to stop. Also, standing on the the total gym puts weight through my legs.

This exercise is to work on my hip rotation. Its getting a lot better, but its still kind of shaky.

Steps to Recovery

This week Project Walk had their annual Steps to Recovery fundraiser! About 10 people who were told they were never going to walk again walked across the parking lot in front of a crowd of people who where cheering them on! One guy even played a little one-on-one with Mr. Ted (one of the founders of PW)! :) It was so amazing! These people were told to give up and move on with their lives but they believed, had faith and persevered, and they achieved what was supposed to be impossible. I am so excited to be a part of this program!

Romans 4:17-18 (NLT)
- ....This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and creates new things out of nothing. Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping...

Romans 4:20-21 (NLT)
- Abraham never wavered in believing God's promises. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.

Here are a few pictures from last week. In the ones of me standing I was holding my hips and posture with my therapist only blocking out my knees because I cannot lock them on my own yet. You can see the difference in my posture if you compare these pictures with some of the earlier pictures of me standing with aid. On the spin bike my posture is also getting better and I am able to sit up tall and pedal. Backwards is still better than forwards because I still have trouble initiating it on my own when I want to pedal forward, and I still have trouble stopping.
